Is Fish oil good for your heart and what kind and how much should you take>?!

Question:

Is Fish oil good for your heart and what kind and how much should you take>?

Answers:

Fish oil is indeed good for the heart, as well as the brain and general health. This is due to the omega 3 content. It has been estimated that traditional diets, those that had no processed foods, had a ratio of omega6 to mega 3 of about 2 to 1. People on these diets did not suffer the ills that plague today's society.
Cod liver oil is probably a better option as it has the added bonus of Vitamins A and D, of which modern diets have 10 time less than healthier traditional diets.
Look for a quality oil that has not been exposed to heat during the processing as omega 3 fatty acids are very heat sensitive and oxidise easily, causing formation of free radicals. Avoid those that remove natural vitamins during the processing and add synthetic versions in their place

Pretty much stick to the recomended doses, if the omega 3 to 6 ration goes the other way, this too can create health problems.
