I took accutane for 6 months and it totally cleared up all of my acne!. I had really bad cystic acne on my face and back, and a little on my chest!. It didn't work instantly, but after a couple a weeks it started to get better!. It IS a gradual process!. My joints hurt, too (especially my back), and I had trouble lifting and laying down!. But if went away completely after I finished!. My skin got really dry, and I had to carry around chapstick with me wherever I went!. But all of it happened gradually so I had time to get used to it!. I'm pretty sure your acne will clear up if you just stay on it!. It's not like Tylenol or anything!. I still have to wash my face and stuff, but that's all!. It's really a good trade and I'm glad I did it; my acne was so bad it hurt!. I had to lay certain ways so I didn't hurt one of my sores!. I don't think you should work out so much, or at least not so brutally!. Anyway, good luck, and I hope it all clears up!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not thattttt familiar with accutane or watever but acne will get worse later one!. When you hit your early and mid 20s, it will go away!. I suggest you boil some hot water, and put your face right on top of it with a towel over your head!. This will open the pores!!!!!!!! YAY!! then you wash and put on some face cream!. BTW wash your face with soem face wash, not soap!.!.!.!.!.!.do the steam thing every other week!.!.!.!. wen ver yu hva etime!.!.!.other wise, wash your face EVERY DAYWww@Answer-Health@Com

I took acutane when I was 12, it worked miracles!! I experienced barely any side effects, and i have had barely any brake outs since!. I used to have really bad acne, and now i have absolutely none!. For some people, acne may get worse when you first start, but for me, that didnt happen!. It's so worth it :) Www@Answer-Health@Com

One of the most common ways of treating acne is the use of retinoids!. Retinoids are substances derived from Vitamin A, which attempt to cure acne by normalizing the lifecycle of follicle cells!. There are two types of such substances, based on application: external (topical) and oral!. The best known external retinoids are Retin-A, Differin and Tazorac, while the oral retinoids list is headed by the popular Accutane!.

However, about one quarter of the patients who used Accutane or other drugs based on isotretinoin may relapse and require additional treatment!.

But the biggest drawback of retinoids is the long list of side effects, which sometimes makes retinoids look like a disease rather than a cure!.

The most common side effects are dry skin and nosebleeds!. Many patients have also reported liver problems, while a few complained of depression!. However, the scientific community is still split on the issue of depression!. More seriously, isotretinoin is known to cause birth defects, which is why female patients have to use two separate forms of birth control or vow abstinence during the treatment!. Pregnant women are not allowed to use anything but the mildest treatments!.

The bottom line is that retinoids are a good idea if one can cope with the side effects!. This begs the question: why not use something just as effective, but without the side effects!. Acne treatment systems, such as ClearPores: http://www!.clearpores!.com/clicks/clickth!.!.!. are also popular because of their success in dealing with the condition, but lack the extreme side that makes retinoids a pain to use!. The choice between these treatments is yours!.

It takes time for the medication to get into your system and fully start working!. In fact, with most acne medicines it gets worse before it gets better!. Your face should start to be drying out about 2 weeks or so into the medication!. I've never noticed much of a difference when dosing was changed!.!.!.

I've taken the medication twice!. The first time, my acne was quite severe!.!.!.and it cleared up beautifully (but the course of pills was about 6 months)!. I had to retake it about 5 years later!. My skin has never been perfect, but much better than it used to be!. I didn't have much for side effects, just chapped lips!. I'd try taking some Ibuprofen for your joints, that side effect should be temporary!.!.!.but if it continues, talk to your doctor!. I know for me, I had monthly visits to the dermatologist (plus blood draws monthly for cholesterol---Accutane can elevate it quite a bit)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
