Two year old with "prominent left ventricle"?!


Question: Two year old with "prominent left ventricle"!?
I just got a phone call from the dr with the results of a chest xray of my two year old who had a cold!. The radiologist noticed a "prominent left ventricle but no ventricle dissention"!. As a parent I am worried sick!.!.!.!.any info would be appreciated as searches are coming up empty!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

what they're basically saying is that there is no gap between the ventricles which is a common disease in young babies also that the left ventricle is probably larger than normal!. This could be due to a number of issues - blockage in blood vessels or improper valve functioning - both of which are not necessarily dangerous as the heart can adapt which it sounds like it may already be doing!. This doesnt mean dont treat this seriously though but look into things like an echocardiogram but ask the doctor to explain it a bit better because he/she is the one looking at the results!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
