Hi Lovely,

Get your blood pressure checked!. It sounds very much like low blood pressure!. It may have nothing to do with your low iron situation!. Are you very thin!? Does this feeling usually occur when you stand from a sitting or reclining position!?

Three year olds are finicky eaters to begin with!. I wouldn't give him any kind of supplements unless prescribed by a physician!. Too much iron is also a bad condition, and can cause organ damage over the long term!. Just see to it that he gets a balanced diet with lots of green veggies in it!. He should get all the iron he needs from that!.

But please check your blood pressure several times over several days and see if it is low!. That needs to be treated as well, if it exists!. Get more rest!. As a wife and mother of three, the odds of you getting enough sleep are very slim!. Take naps during the day when the possibility presents itself!.

And no, anemia is unlikely to cause cancer, and the odds of this being caused by cancer are akin to you being attacked by Brad Pitt in a fit of carnal lust!.!.!.verrrrrry unlikely!.

Absent exposure to known carcinogens, no one really knows what causes cancer in humans, but strongly suspect genetic predisposition in many types, and have clinical indications that genetic disorders are a causative factor in others!.

If anemia caused cancer, don't you think most of the third world, given their inadequate diet, would have cancer!? Well, they don't, so quit worrying about this and get your blood pressure checked, and get more sleep!.

Read the MD post below mine!. He knows way more than I do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. Pre-existing anemia for many years in a 20 year old is not a risk factor for leukemia or cancer!. Anemia can certainly be caused by cancers and leukemias, but your anemia seems to be iron deficiency related!. You could not have a cancer or leukemia causing an anemia for many years!. It would have shown up by now!.

Having three kids puts a huge stress on your iron stores!. It's a matter of working with your physicians to find an iron replacement compound that works for you and is well tolerated!. This can be difficult for some people (Including my wife/ex wife), but there are many different iron preparations to try!. Maybe your doctor has samples for you to try!. That's what I did for my iron deficiency patients - to save them some expense!. Best of luck for you and the kids!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not directly!. Basically anemia is low iron!. I had that too!. You need to eat more iron rich foods!. That is better than taking supplements!.
Also, anemia does not lead to cancer - but if you have other health problems such as anemia, diabetes, poor eating habits, poor exercise habits, it is more likely that you will develop something like cancer down the road!.
You can prevent anemia by eating the right amount of iron every day!. Iron-rich foods include meats, eggs, and whole-grain or iron-fortified foods!. You can also get iron from many other foods, including peas, beans, oatmeal, prunes, and figs!.

Best bets: egg yolks, meat (especially red) and cereals that say "iron fortified" on the label!.

I know that anemia is almost always a by-product of cancers,
including leukemia!.
Hadn't given much thought as to whether anemia could acutally
cause cancers until you asked!.

According to on site I found on the subject :
"Some childhood cancers can cause aplastic anemia"

What is aplasic anemia!? Here is a link explaining that :
