It depends. Is it acne or just your average spots? I have pretty clear skin and i use a wash (Neutrogena Clear Skin) everyday and roughly once a week i use a mask and exfoliate. However if you have acne its probably best to ask your doctor what treatment would be best. Its also a good idea to keep your hair out of your face as this increases the oil in your skin and touching your face with your hands will spread germs.
