You'll be fine, Jim!.!.!.you may not be happy or very comfortable for a while, but ultimately you will be fine!.!.!.

"Cancer" is a horrible word to hear, but if you have to have cancer, bladder cancer is the one to have; best case scenario, you'll have a TURB surgery (trans-urethral resection of the bladder), and they will remove the tumor without ever cutting an incision from the outside (ouch!)!. Worst case scenario, they'll have to slice you open and take out a kidney (you have a spare), and possibly even your bladder (they can make you a "new one" out of the last 8" of your colon), but after a short course of post-surgical chemo- or immunotherapy you will be good as new!.

You have quit smoking, right!?

How did I know that!?

Best wishes, dude!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's terrible waiting for results to come back and pending further tests!. Try not to think the worst - it may not be cancer and could just be a bad infection!. A friend's father had bladder cancer and was treated successfully and made a total and full recovery so if it is the worst case scenario, it can be treated!. Make sure you ask lots of questions - take a notebook if necessary and make sure you get the results of the tests as soon as possible!. Good luck - I hope all goes well!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

they always take measurements of the size of your bladder during an ultra sound!. your bladder may be thickened due to inflammation from the infection!. they may want to do a cystoscopy!.!.!.a camera into your bladder and take a little biopsy!. in the uk i think men can have this done under general anaesthetic unless there are any reasons you can't have an anaesthetic that is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i agree totally about the not knowing and also the waiting - the thing is i have had a similar problem - they dont usually scan for 6-8 weeks after due to inflammation and soreness when you have had a uti!. i would go back to my doctors and explain the problem and ask for hes opinion, i know its worring and frightening but there is really not alot you can do unless you see your doctor and push for something to be done, they are usually very good and will not want you to be anxious, explain and expalin your scared!. hope all is well for youWww@Answer-Health@Com
