Mouth sore?!

Question:

Mouth sore?

I have this sore in my mouth that looks like a canker sore, but my boyfriend got one too. (Canker sores are supposedly non-contagious.) I've only had one of them previously, about a month ago. I don't think it is herpes, because it is on the inside of my lip and there is only one. I also don't think that it is oral warts, either. It is whitish in colour and feels kind of bubbly. It is kind of painful to the touch and becomes irritated and inflamed easily. I wasn't sure what it could possibly be, because whatever it is, my boyfriend has one too, so I know it is contagious. I haven't really been involved in any risky sexual behavior, and I also get tested for such regularly anyways. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what it is. Thanks!

Answers:

Pika..the thing that raises red flags for me is your boyfriend has what you have. For argument sake, lets say you pass it on to your boyfriend or vice versa. In that case it could be a cold sore which is very contagious and can be located anywhere in your mouth.

This may or may not be what you have but I'm linking you with a site that discusses mouth sores and their causes. I found the material written very informative.
