Question: How long is a child contagious after having the stomach flu!?
I need to know how many days I should keep my child out of daycare after she has had the stomach flu for 5 days!. I want to know when it is safe to send her back around other kids!. I don't want them to get sick!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There would have been a day when this would have been considered normal but it isn't anymore so, since there aren't many of you out there, I want to acknowledge that you're being a responsible parent and doing the right thing by everyone involved!. I would say your child is no longer contagious after five days!. Typically there is a window of between 24 hours to three days where there is a danger of contamination!. This all depends however on how you have treated the child!. If the sickness has been addressed and child is heading towards recovery it is safe!. If the level of illness has remained the same or become worse, it may be a good idea to wait!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The temp has to be down 24 hours to under 100!.4 And she should be eating pretty well on soft foods, not just liquids without throwing it back up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
