I have to have a biopsy on my nose anyone had this experience?!

Question:

I have to have a biopsy on my nose anyone had this experience?

is it painful

Answers:

It really depends on how big the lump is to be removed and where it is.

My friend had this done at the side of the bridge of his nose.. It was quite a large malignant mole he had removed and because there was not enough skin to stitch it, he had a graft (there is another name for it, which I can't remember) taken from his thigh, so that they could stitch the wound together. Very neat! Prior to removing the mole, they used anaesthetic to numb the area where the needles went in - he did say he felt the needles a little - a sort of pushing sensation but after that he didn't know any pain or discomfort and they covered his eyes, although he said he had them closed all the time anyway.

The wound that was left was a little sore because the flesh is so fine in that area and he had a dressing on it for a while but it wasn't, as he described, painful. And when he had the skin fitted in place, they numbed the area very well, so he didn't feel anything much.

Don't worry. You will be fine.
