There are two main problems that affect valves, and four valves - so you can see a total of eight possible problems that this might be!.
The valve is a sort of one-way door - it lets blood in one direction but not another - this keeps it flowing through the heart in the right way!.
A PROLAPSED valve is one that doesn't close properly - it lets blood go back the wrong way!.
A STENOSED valve is one that does not open properly - the heart has to work harder to push the blood through the door!.
These are very much simplified but I hope they give you an idea of what is happening!.
Many people do fine with no treatment!. If treatment IS needed then it is an operation!. There are loads of ops dependednt on the valve and the problem but they are generally quite safe!.
If you want to look things up further then look up HEART VALVE STENOSIS or HEART VALVE PROLAPSE!.
Good luck, and don't worry!.

Everybody has heart valves, 4 of them!.!.!.
There are 2 types of valve disease
Valve stenosis - valve is narrow and restricts blood flow
Valve regurgitation - valve doesn't close properly and creates a backflow of blood
An operation would be needed to make it better, depending on the extent of the disease or damage determines the op!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my son has pulmonary valve stenosis!. This is a slowing of the valve that opens and closes to pass the blood through, sometimes called a "sticky valve"!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
It depends on how it's not working right, generally it's referred to as "Heart Valve Disease" but it could be a number of things including a mitral valve prolapse!. More info needed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
