Question: Inconsistant sugar levels!.!?
i have gestational diebetes, i am required to test two hours after each meal!. i just checked my sugar and it was 162!. yeah that is way high and all i ate was chicken and some veggis!. so i tested again and it was 123!. within a matter of a minute!. sometimes for the last week i have been getting high readings, (not that high) but i just figured it was because of what i was eating or not exercizing!.!.!.now im thinking that maybe they were not really that high to begin with!. have you ever had this happen to you!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Glucose meters aren't exact!. Results can vary up to 50 points!. Do a check with the solution which came with your meter or if you're very worried about the numbers, take it into your doctor's office to have it calibrated, i!.e!. check it against their meter!.

i have two meters, same kind, for the same reason!. i always double check with the other if i have a reading over 180 or if i have a low reading!. you can get an inexpensive meter at walmart for about 10 dollars!. this would be the one to use when you are in doubt!. the test strips arent that expensive either!. that way you can double check on another meterWww@Answer-Health@Com
sweety,my sugars have nevr been below 250!. They go up to 513 sometimes!. i take 4 shots a day and 2000mg of pills a day also!. The one day i had a glass of water and a cup of hot tea with sweet and low and it was 413!. So my meter is out of wack!. fasting it is 252 and then i did not take anything,not even water and it went to 273 for no reason!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
