I don't understand?!

Question:

I don't understand?

Okay so people say most people have had a cold sore before they are even 7 years old. And most people have them more than once. But cold sores mean you have herpes right?

Then what's the difference when a child/or non sexual person has a cold sore, then when someone w/ herpes has a cold sore?

Answers:

There is no difference. Cold sores are herpes. We just like to call them cold sores because we don't like to associate them with the dreaded "herpes virus." Giving it a different name allows people to pretend that having it orally is natural but having it genitally is bad! But yes, they are the very same thing.

When you see someone with a cold sore on their face there is no way to know if they got it as a child by getting a kiss from their grandma or by giving someone oral sex. No test can determine if they got it through sexual activity or not, since it is the exact same virus either way.

If you do have oral herpes it can be very easily spread to another person's genitals through oral sex. Sadly, we look down on the person who received it and don't think twice about the person who gave it. We have a pathetic double standard in America.
