(Reflux Disease) or GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease(GERD) i when the reflux is causing symptoms or problems!. this can be felt as heartburn or chest tightness especially after large meals or if you lie down immediately after meals!. My father had acid reflux for the last 50 years of his life!. He died from esophageal cancer which was caused by the acid irritating his esophagus over that time!. It is not a pretty way to die and of the 5 people I have known who have had it, all have died withing 5 years!. I attended a funeral Tuesday of a man in my church congregation who died from it!. Make sure that your fiance goes to the doctor and does what he is told to do to lessen the symptoms and the damage that can occur!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
