Answers:

Why do you feel guilty about taking medications that help you live your life?

Pain medications do NOT shorten your life span. Where on earth did you read/hear such nonsense? What negative effects? Since when is relief from pain a negative effect?

Actually, living with the pain daily causes more stress to the body and that *will* shorten you life span, and yes, there is research to back that up.

No, you won't become "addicted" nor are you and "addict." You have an illness and are taking medication for it. There is mountains of research saying chronic [meaning long term] pain patients do not become addicted to narocotics.

Fibromyalgia is for life. So, unfortunately, is the pain. If you didn't get pain relief, you wouldn't be able to even pick up your son let alone take care of him or enjoy spending time with him.

You seriously need to change how you think about this. You need this medication. How could taking care of yourself be unfair to him? What is there to feel guilty about?

If you weren't taking pain medication, then it would be unfair to him and you should feel guilty.
