There is no such entity as "cancer," so your question doesn't make much sense in its current form!. What we call cancer is a whole group of separate diseases, and some of them are at least in part genetically based!. You'd have to look at the specific tumor types in your family even to begin to develop the question!. There are known genetic markers for some forms of breast cancer and pancreatic cancer, to name a couple, and if your family has those, then your risks may be high!.
