I have to do a 24 hr urine test, to test the protien in my urine. What does that mean?

I also just had a baby a week ago, could that have anything to do with it?

I had to do that after my daughter was born also.

During my pregnancy with her, my blood pressure started to rise and also the protein count in my urine had started to increase. They did the 24 hour test after I delivered her to make sure that the levels were starting to go back down.

I suspect that it probably the same reason they are ordering the test for you, since you just recently delivered a baby also. To make sure that the things that were happening to your body while you were pregnant are starting to go back to normal now that you delivered.

A protein test is a way for them to check your kidney function.
