Hi!. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 2 months ago and i am having the same problem!. I have been feeling so horrible lately, the last thing i am thinking about is sex!. Since this changes hormone levels in your body, i'm sure that it has something to do with it!. Once the medication gets you stabilized, hopefully the sex drive will come back!. Just to reassure you, i've heard of this happening to a lot of other people also!. Good luck, feel better soon :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

In health issues it is quite unusual for there ever to be a simple one to one cause and effect illness!. The body has so many ways of adapting that if there is a deficiency of one thing, it can usually be made up by some other factor!. It is when there are several contributing factors that symptoms will appear, and then it gets difficult to isolate each of the several factors usually involved!.

That said, hypothyroid can cause a whole lot of complications, since so many other glandular functions rely on thyroid balance!. Hypo can contribute to many things, including lethargy, weight gain, depression, and as you indicate, loss of libido!.

The hormone dosage is also complicated to get right, because it takes about six weeks for any changes to be reflected that can be detected in blood chemistry!. Once a proper level is finally attained, the body can then make an adaptation that later requires still another adjustment!.

So it is something that you need to watch closely!. It is likely, especially given your age, that your libido will once again return, so look forward to having some fun again!.

I would strenuously recommend an adequate nutritional supplement regime!. Dr!. Strand has had good results in many cases such as yours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
