Question: Do hospitals keep some kind of live die ratio of people that are admitted and released !?
Answers:
They are required by law to keep an M&M (Mortality and Morbity) stats!.
They also have M&M confrences to make sure when a patient died, that they or nobody was negligent!.
If they find out they are someone was negligent, they then discipline that person!.
If they discover a physician on their staff, or a nurse having a lot of patients dying they will report them to their licensing board, if need be!.
I worked as an anesthesia technician for 18 years, and worked in the open heart area!. One physician wanted to practice there!. He approached the chief of the department, and he told him to bring him his stats (M&M)!.
He was allowed to perform surgeries there!. He had several patients die!. The chief looked into it and determined that the doctor was no negligent, he just got a lot of bad patients, with terrible conditions!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
