Question: Cut my finger with scissors!.!.!.tetanus!?
ok, i work, of all places, in the ICU of a hospital!. today i cut my finger with the scissors i got from the top desk of the front desk!. assuming the scissors were not used to cut anything nasty (bloody shirt)!.!.!.can i get other diseases esp tetanus!?
i mean you would think that i could go straight to the doctors around me, but its embarassing because people are dying and it seems trivial in comparison!. it happened at the very end of the day also, so noone was really around!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think you have to worry about it in the hospital!. Tetanus is caused by a bacteria in soil, Clostridium Teteni, so as long as no one was outside digging with them in the soil, you should be okay!.

If you haven't had a tetanus shot in a while you might see about getting one as soon as you can just in case!.
