Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to!.!.!.!.

anxiety sucks, if this is unusual for you then really go to a doctor or a therapist because you can't live like that forever!.
when you wake up having breathing problems do you feel funny too and gasping for breathe or do you wake up feeling anxious and afraid!? just wondering because breathing problems at night could mean you might have sleep apnea!. demand your doctor do some tests to make sure theres nothing seriously wrong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I get that too especially when I'm subconsciously or consciously anxious about something!. For example, I can never sleep well the night before the first day of school!. Don't worry, you just need to get your mind off of things!. Try to do a sport or a hobby!. If you can't, you can always make yourself physically tired before you go to bed by doing jumping jacks or situps!. You'll want to sleep then! Goodluck! :-DWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm going through the same thing!.!.!.!.Mines is school related!.!.!.To combat this problem i've been listening to soothing music to help me drift to sleep, it calms my soul down, you should try it (go to youtube, make a playlist, then attach some ear plugs to your computer, hopefully a laptop, and fall asleep listening to your favorite songs gently playing in your ear)!. Also try telling yourself that everything will be OKAY, perhaps you could even start to "laugh it off", for me the music works the best!.

Hope You Feel Better Soon!. And good luck on your test!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think some kind of exercise before your sleep time is good for you!.

Get your blood pumping until you are really tired and you should get a good night's sleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
