Question: What exactly is meant by a "cure for cancer!?"!?
Obviously, I understand why people are looking for a cure; I'm not an idiot!.
What I don't understand is what exactly a cure to cancer is!.
Everyone says there's no cure for cancer, but people are becoming cancer-free through treatments such as radiation or chemotherapy!.
What would a cure for cancer do to cancer!? Would is prevent it!? What!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

A disease would be considered cured if treatment ended or reversed that disease, so that the patient no longer had it!.
There's no guaranteed cure for any cancer, but you're right - some cases of cancer are cured through the treatments that are available!.
Seven out of ten children are cured of cancer!. Testicular cancer, Hodgkin's disease, and many cases of leukaemia can all be cured in adults with chemotherapy, most skin cancers are cured with surgery, and many cases of thyroid cancer and cancer of the larynx are cured with radiotherapy!.
Many other types of cancer are also cured if they are found early enough!.
There is still a long way to go though, especially with some of the commonest types of cancer such as lung, breast, bowel and prostate cancer!.
The trouble with finding 'a cure for cancer' is that cancer is hundreds of diseases, not just one!. The difficulty is that different cancers are caused by different things, so no one strategy can prevent them, and different cancers respond to different treatments so no one treatment can cure them all!.
So there will never be a magic bullet that cures all cancer, but there is much research and dedicated hard work going on in all types of cancer to find improved treatments and cures!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A "cure for cancer" means that if there was some sort of drug or something that a person with cancer can take and the cancer will go away forever!.!.!.they will never have that chance of getting it back!.
Now, they have radiation and chemotherapy to only help the spread of cancer and destroy it but you will always have a chance of getting it back!. Also, chemo!. kills people because not only does it kill your cancer cells, but at the same time it is killing your healthy cells making you really really sick!. So if there was some "cure" it would get rid of that cancer forever and not harm you in any other way but that mass of uncontrollable dividing cells!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A cure for cancer would be something that would quickly destroy it in a matter of hours or days instead of weeks!.
