Answers:
Diabetes can be caused either by unhealthy eating habits, genetics, or a combination of the two!. If diabetes runs in your family, then there is a risk that you could develop diabetes no matter how healthy you may be otherwise!. Diabetes runs on both sides of my family as well (my grandma on one side and my grandpa, uncle, and great uncle on the other side) and my sister was actually diagnosed when she was six years old!.!.!. perfectly healthy eating habits, very active, not overweight or anything!.!.!. so sometimes diabetes occurs solely because of genetics!.!. but other times people with no family history of diabetes at all develop it because of their weight!.
So the answer to your question is YES: you and your sister are at risk to develop diabetes, but this does not mean that either of you will definitely develop it!. (my sister and i have the same exact family history, but she has diabetes and i don't!.!.!. ) The risk of developing diabetes is higher for anyone if they don't maintain healthy diet and exercise, but it is especially so for you and your sister because of your genes!. There's nothing you can do to prevent diabetes based on genetics, but you can prevent an unhealthy weight!. Do your best to stay healthy, and you'll be less likely to develop diabetes!. Even if you are eating right, exercising, and maintaining a healthy weight, keep an eye out for symptoms of diabetes, and if you start to show symptoms, go to your doctor!.
I hope this was helpful!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It does put you at higher risk!. Its a combination of both, but you can prevent it with a healthy diet and exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
