Just found out I have Pneumonia and put on Z-Pack?!

Just found out I have Pneumonia and put on Z-Pack?

I do not know how I got it. Only symptoms I had was Sinus problems, then a cough and wheezing. I do have allergies around this time of year. I had this for about 2 months ever since I swept up the floor at my husbands shop. Maybe dust or something.
I am on a Z-pack for 5 days with Advair Inhaler.

What is the prognosis? I did not have fever or flu symptoms before diagnosed.

Are there different types of Pneumonia? And how long does the Z-Pack last in my system? Is it a steroid?

ahhhhh the z pack - I love that antibiotic - 5 days and wham - feeling much better - love the fact that you dont have to take it for 10 days like the other kinds. so, no, it is not a steroid. just a very potent antibiotic.

Pneumonia can happen when a small infection goes untreated and it hits your lungs. That is really all it is, a cold in your lungs. Your sinus problem probably had a lot to do with it.

Yes there are different kids, more than likey you have a mild case, what they refer to as "walking pneumonia"...if it goes untreated it can get a lot worse and truly knock you on your butt.

You are going to be fine, take it easy though - lots of fluids and rest.
