Go to the hospital or no?!

Question: Go to the hospital or no!?
i had the mirena iud placed yesterday!. i have really bad flank pain so i am assuming i have a kidney infection, ive had one before so i know how they feel!. my question is should i drag my newborn son to the hospital (i am a single mother) or just try drinking water and taking cranberry pills!? i was told by the obgyn that if i get an std or pelvic inflammatory disease it would be really bad!. any suggestions!? thanks in advanceWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you have had a kidney infection before and know what they feel like!.!.!.!.and are experiencing the same symptoms, then I would suggest that you go to either the emergency room or an after-hours clinic!. The doctor can easily run a urinalysis to confirm your suspicions and get you on antibiotics!.!.!.!.!.!.!.so that you get this thing turned back BEFORE you get more symptoms!.!.!.!.(and if you wait too long and get additional symptoms, then you will be MISERABLE!)

Also!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.since you just had the IUD placed yesterda, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a doctor examine you just to make sure that there is not an issue with the placement of the IUD!.

And another thought!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.since Flu season has begun early, the hospitals and ER's are swarming with germs!. If at all possible, see if someone can watch your newborn son while you go get checked out, so that he is not exposed to all the "germies"!. If you don't have anyone to watch your son, then try to sit in an area of the waiting room that is the farthest away from anyone else!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.OR better yet!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.if you have a cell phone, explain to the lady sitting at the triage/reception desk your situation, and tell her that because you have a newborn son and there are so many sick people in the waiting room, would it be possilble for you to sit in your vehicle until you are ready to be seen by a doctor!.!.!.!.and she can call your cell phone number to alert you to come back inside!.

Hope this helps and I hope that you get well soon! Congrats on your new son!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should get checked for a kidney infection anyway!. Once a Urinary Tract Infection has reached the kidney it can start doing damage so it's always a good idea to get your urine tested and go on anti-biotics!.
Any pain, anywhere, after an IUD has been inserted must be checked out!. Remember you've just had a foreign object put in your body!. You'll suffer cramps for a while so this could be the problem but you should check the IUD is not being rejected!.
You should have had a test to rule out STDs and pelvic inflammatory before your IUD was inserted!. So it is extremely unlikely you have anything like this now!.
Definitely go get checked out!. Sorry for the hassle! I know it's a pain!Www@Answer-Health@Com
