Question: Antidepressants, I've tried almost everything and nothing has worked!.!?
So many times I've read people commenting "Oh and by the way you won't even need the Clonazepam (or Lorazepam) when the ______ kicks in!. I've already tried Xanax, Paxil, Zoloft, and Lexapro and none of them have done anything for me!. Now it's been two weeks since i started Prozac and I don't feel very optimistic!. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!. I suffer from social phobia and OCD (only obsessive thoughts, no rituals)!. Thanks in advance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, Clonazepam, Lorazepam & Xanax are not antidepressants as you must know!.!.!.they are anti-anxiety meds!.
With antidepressants you need to give meds 6-8 weeks to begin to work!. Many people also need a "cocktail" of meds!. Wellbutrin, Effexor XR or Cymbalta may be good additions to the Prozac!.
I agree that therapy is a necessary component to your treatment to learn how to change your obsessive thinking patterns & learn new ways of coping with your social phobia & the underlying reasons for them!. See a professional social worker or psychologist!.

i was put on SSRI's and it took a few months of taking them and seeing a psych before i noticed any real changes!. you need to persevere with them, it takes time!. do you get therapy!? taking meds and seeing a therapist should go hand in hand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i take non perscription!.!. it's called "st!. john's wart" or wort!.!. i forget!.!. you can easily ask for it!. it helped me out!. alot!. i felt like i didn't really have any worries at all!. always had a smile on!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
