If treated early with antibiotics, you can recover!. This must be done in the early stages of the disease!. However, some people do have recurring symptoms long after the disease has cleared!.
Your friend has to see a doctor and quick!. Symptoms are rash, fever, chills, body aches, joint swelling, weakness, and temporary paralysis!.

Lyme disease comes from deer ticks which feed on human blood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I come in contact with ticks on a regular basis when gralloching deer!.
The ticks are parasites and are most active during spring and autumn when they emerge from the soil and attach themselves to any warm blooded host!.They suck blood dropping off when gorged to lay eggs or complete their life cycle !.
Ticks can transmit many diseases such as tick-borne fever and louping ill to domestic stock and LYME disease to humans!.
A tick should never be pulled out as you may leave the head and mouth piece imbedded in skin which will cause an infection nor do you ever put vasaline or burn off the tick as it breaths thro a hole in it's back side doing this causes it to regurgitate the contents of its stomach back into your blood stream which could infect you if this tick was carrying the disease , there are special tick removers which you can buy from your local pet shop or vet!.
to check if you have contracted Lymes you will see a red patch on your skin whch will be inflamed you must see your doctor right away as untreated it can be very dangerous !.
I have worked with deer for many years and have always removed the ticks on my arms and other places with my tick removers and am ok!.
Hope this answers your question!. Take your friend to the doc and have her checked out!.
