Question: Which works more like Benadryl--Zyrtec or Claritin!?
Benadryl works quite well for me for my allergies, but my probation officer is restricting my use of this medicine!. For continual sinus stuffiness/headaches, which is better, Claritin or Zyrtec!? I've had sinus issues for 8 years now, with seemingly no end in sight!. I DO NOT want to disobey my probation officer for ANY reason--but my sinuses are killing me!. It really depends upon the person, every body is different and has a different reaction to medicine!. For example I have pretty bad allergies and NO medicine ever helped, so I had to start getting allergy shots!. Are you sure its allergies though!? You could have a deviated septum, a pending sinus infection, or just congestion!. But if It's allergies try both and see which you feel helps you better!. Also you may want to talk to your probation officer because if you have stuffiness you need something with a decongestant in it, and if you probation officer has a prob with benadryl he may also have a prob with the decongestant!. However, this being said you should not have to be uncomfortable either! If you want the decongestant try zyrtec-D or claritin-D (D means it has the decongestant, you can get it behind counter at the pharmacy) Also you may want to try something called a sinus rinse (try neilmed)!. It may sound gross but it helps, basically its like a squirt bottle and you use the mix of normal saline it comes with to fill the bottle and squirt it in your nose, it helps take out all the gunk and irritants that cause congestion!. If you try this be sure to read the instructions first just to be sure you do it right!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
Zyrtec and Claritin are the same thing basically as far as allergy medications go!. It really depends upon the person, and what works better for them and they're body!. Somestimes if you get on the drug manufactor's web site you can request free samples of these to try out and see what works for you!. Zyrtec works better for me!. I tried Claritin, and my nose was always stuffed!. So, I went back to Zyrtec-D this time (has a decongestant in it)!. It's working!. I take it once a day!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
