Has anyone ever had skin cancer on your nose?!
Question:
Has anyone ever had skin cancer on your nose?
I had a biopsy done yesterday on this lump I have on the side of my nose and am waiting for the results. The doctor said if it's positive, I will have to have the area surgicially removed. It is a painful process? Will I get black eyes? Do they put you to sleep or do they give you a local (novocain)? Thanks for your answers.
Answers:
You should probably have MOHS surgery to remove the skin cancer if that is what it turns out to be. MOHS surgery is a process where they remove the least amount of tissue possible so you get a better cosmetic result and they examine the tissue while you are having the surgery so when you leave you know the skin cancer has been completely removed. It can be a long process depending on the extent of the cancer. It is usually just done with local anesthetic. You may have some bruising or swelling around the area as well.
