Answers:
Believe me, it does restrict tanning, seen it many times!. I've seen a number of times, where strong sunblock were spilled on parts of my body that I did not intent protecting that much!. The spilled-on spot remained white!.

Yes it is designed to protect from harmful rays!. "Tanning" is also harmful, depending on how much it is done!. Mild application of sunblock will allow some tanning, but also restrict the protection!. It is a compromise!. Sunburn is the same as "over-tanning", or too much tanning on a skin that is not used to the sun, or that is sensitive by nature!. There are indeed different wavelengths of UV rays, with different properties, but the "tanning" rays and the "damaging" rays are generally the same!.

"Tan lotions" are milder sunblocks that allow tanning, but those products also do not allow the same amount of protection!. The sunblock does not "know" at which point the rays do more harm than good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on the type of the sunblock u have used, there are different sun blocks for different purposes!.

Following is the The best natural remedy if sun burned

Brew enough tea bags to cover a considerable area of the sunburn and ice down to get the tea really cold!. Place the cold, wet tea bags and/or a rag drenched in the tea over the affected area, keeping the bags and rags cold!. If you can submurge the burned part of the body, do so into the tea!. Do this for at least one hour as often as you can (3 or so times a day) until it fades!. This works for second and third degree burns as well and will prohibit scarring! The tea works as an antioxidant and pulls the heat out of your body!. It stops the pain temporarily also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it doesnt prevent tanning, just harmful rays, but the stronger your spf and the more often you apply it, you'll be able to prevent tanningWww@Answer-Health@Com
