Question: Why don't i get a cancer jab!?
Theres a new scheme where year 8 girls get cervical cancer jabs at school!. I've heard this reduces the risk of cervical cancer by around 70%!. I want one! Could i get one for free from my GP!? (I'm 17 by the way)Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you live in Australia then yes you can!. I think they are providing it free up to the age of 26!. You need to see your GP for it!. I think the reason it is commencing at year 8 is because to be of most benefit it needs to be given prior to become sexually active!. Once you are having sex you have an increased risk of contracting the HPV virus!. This is the virus that the vaccine with prevent and the same virus that accounts for 70% of cervical cancers!. Once someone has the virus the vaccine is of no assistance!. For the girls that fall between year 8 and 26 it can be given by a GP!. Over the next ten years this obviously wont be such an issue as all girls will get it on there way through year 8!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think there is a charge for this and some insurances don't cover it either!. There are also risks to this vaccine please research and speak to your GP about it!. If you don't have isurance you may be able to it free from the local health department!.

I know there is controversy over this, but In the past year I have had THREE friends all find out they had that!. One of them is even married & must of gotten it b4 she got married!.
