Can a diabetic patient spread his sickness to others?!

Question:

Can a diabetic patient spread his sickness to others?

can a diabetic patient spread his sickness to others?

Answers:

I'm going to go against the grain here and say yes. (for the sake of argument). Type 2 diabetes has "spread" significantly in the past 100, or so, years due to ignorance... not because it's contagious. It is "spread" in much the same way as obesity. It is due to the fact that people are not taught or do not believe in the importance of a healthy diet and exercise routine. So, therefore, diabetes continues to spread dramatically due to ignorance and the fact that many people seem to think that they can eat like pigs and sit around and do nothing all day without any consequences.

Type 1 diabetes is another story entirely. It, too, is not contagious. But it is not spreading in the way that type 2 diabetes is.

BTW, type two diabetes only becomes a "sickness" if it is not taken seriously and treated properly. I'm type 2 diabetic and healthier than many "normal" folks my age.
