Bowel problems- young mum and sooo worried?!

Question: Bowel problems- young mum and sooo worried!?
Hi, im 25 and have 2 children 6 and 1 yrs old!. I have had piles for ages and then i got another pile in the last few months!. I have had blood in the toilet bowl and more recent blood in my stools!. Alongside this when i have a bowel movement im in pain for up to 11 hours although not on every toilet visit!. In the last 3 weeks it fells as if something is stopping my poo from coming out, it just gets stuck and i have to really push for maybe 20 minuetes or so!. I was prescribed pile cream which didnt work after 10 days so i went back to my gp and she looked at my piles and did a rectal examination but stopped as it was too painful!. Im waiting on a phone call now for an appointment at the hospital for a scope!? I have constant daily backache which even when i take 60mg codine it does not work on my bum or my back aches!.!.!.!.!. I am so worried i have the big c!.!.!.!. The gp said i should be called in 7 days and has marked it urgent but nothing!.!.!. I saw her last monday!. I have 2 kids, i cannot be ill!. But i think i am,,,,,,,,,Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, basically you need to have the scope!. All instances of rectal bleeding needs to be investigated, if the pile creams aren't working, you may in some instances require surgery (if it is just piles) NEVER take Codeine, this drug is highly addictive and can cause constipation which will make your piles worse!. I understand your worried, and that's natural!. At 25 years old, although not impossible, it would be HIGHLY unlikely this is the 'big C'!. Your in the best hands and this is being dealt with!. Think positive!. If in the meantime your in pain, see your GP for alternative pain management!. If your constipated take lactulose, I was going to suggest Sennakot but that might act as to much of a propellant, where as lactulose might make your stools softer and easier to pass!.Your GP will advise youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Of course you are worried, loss of blood and discomfort are debilitating and you have two young children to run around after!.
Have you spoken to your doctor about pain meds!? only you mention codeine and that has the side effect of causing constipation, which you should avoid!.
Constipation plus the presence of haemorrhoids is enough to cause pain and discomfort and having to strain for 20 minutes is not helping!.
At least you and your doctor are taking action and I hope all is ok when you have your !? sigmoidoscopy!.
It's tough when you have young children but if there is a problem to tackle you will tackle it for them!.
