A 'brittle' diabetic refers to someone whose blood sugar is difficult to control!. A person who is considered 'brittle' typically experiences large swings from high to low in glucose (blood sugar) levels!. They may not respond to treatment, i!.e!. insulin or oral meds, in a predictable consistent manner!. In my experience as a nurse this makes it difficult- but not impossible to manage medically- please don't be discouraged!. Continue to follow the advice/treatment from your Physician- if this refers to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's when a diabetic's sugar fluctuates wildly and unpredictably!. They may also be unable to tell when they're low!.
