Call the hospital, tell them what's going on, and ask to speak to a nurse about it!. You might want to check your insurance to see if they offer a free nurse line!. Mine does!. Most of the time when you call a hospital, they'll tell you to bring them in to be safe!. If it doesn't seem that bad, you could consult webmd!.com !. If you talk to a nurse or doctor over the phone, ask if benadryl would help and how big of a dose your child can take!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are at all concerned that your son's tongue may be swelling then you need to take him to the ER or call 911!. Usually an allergy that severe would also cause facial swelling and discoloration and you would hear him having trouble breathing and he would be in distress Are you sure he isn't just mouth breathing from his cold or just having fun fooling around with his tongue!? If he doesn't appear to be in any distress, is happy or normally fussy or playful, then chances are he is fine!Www@Answer-Health@Com
