Why do my feet have a lump on the inner sides of them?!

Question:

Why do my feet have a lump on the inner sides of them?

I had this paper route for 2 weeks and I walk on my feet for 2 hours every AM. Now my feet hurts and feels really sore and I have a lump on one side of my both feet. Is this diabetes related or just from using them so much?

Answers:

In general......

Foot problems are not the first sign of diabetes... However, I have sent patients to an endocrinologist after testing their blood sugar and seeing it sky-high when they have foot problems like fungal infections that do not respond to treatment and nerve problems. In all cases these patients had the classic symptoms of diabetes (hunger, thirst, and frequent going to the bathroom) but they were not recognized as being caused by the diabetes.

In general, many people with diabetes get foot problems, but having foot problems does not mean you are diabetic.

The reason your feet hurt is probably because of your increased activity. We would need a much more detailed description of the bumps or pictures to guess at what they were. You really need somebody to be in front of your feet and to be able to touch them to tell you what is wrong.

Check the link below to the American Diabetes Association. If you have any of the signs listed there, then you should talk to your doc about diabetes.
