Is my baby having seizures?!

Question:

Is my baby having seizures?

He's 5 months. I've noticed the past few days some weird movements, most noticeably this evening as I put him down. He was 1/2 asleep & his left arm kept jerking in & out from his body for about 10 seconds. This happened 3 times in a row. My husband saw him do the same thing early this morning while feeding him. What really freaked me out tonight is that immediatley after the arm, he arched his back very high in what looked like a very unnatural position, about 6 times in a 2 minute period. My husband again said he had noticed him doing that a few times before.
He is a little sick right now, very congested, for the first time ever. I have no idea if that matters.
Obviously I'm going to keep watching him, but I'm having a hard time finding any information that describes Infantile Seizures in a non-medical way that I can understand. Especially what a seizure looks like, even mild ones like this might be.
He was a full term baby who's had no problems.
Thoughts? Experience?

Answers:

he could have acid reflux, (the key is the back arching) because babies try to "move away" from the pain...BUT, don't ever gamble with wondering what's going on. IF your son has epilepsy, every seizure causes more brain damage. You need to talk to your pediatrician.

seizures are sometimes easy to spot. a stare, prolonged jerking of the muscles (not just once or twice), loss of bladder function, drooling, foaming, and grunting noises (these are symptoms typical of a grand mal seizure). Afterwards, the person is kind of catatonic or in a deep sleep while the effects of the seizure wear off.

Petit Mal seizures are not as violent, and sometimes do not last as long. Still very serious though..and a symptom is staring off, forgetting what just happened and what's going on. Hard to diagnose in an infant, but these are some things that I have witnessed myself.
