Heart pains with trouble breathing?!

Question: Heart pains with trouble breathing!?
Ok for the last 2 days or so, while I've been working, there'd been a couple times when I felt a sharp pain around my heart!. It doesn't last very long at all, but it comes and goes a little!. Also have had a little trouble breathing too!. Like I have to take a real big deep breath just to get enough air in my lungs it feels like!. I've also had a heart murmer since birth so I don't know if that accounts for anything!. And also, I'm 20!. Should I get this checked out!? Or could those pains probably just have been gas or something!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is possible that you have a PFO(patent foramen ovalue) meaning a hole in the heart!. Usually when you have a PFO your heart will have a murmur!. Everyone is born with a PFO but it usually closes up within a few weeks after birth!. For 1 out of 4 people the hole dosen't close!. Some people can live their whole life not knowing they have one, others will have heart problems in their middle ages!. Such as the sharp feeling in the chest and having a hard time breathing!. I would reccommend seeing your family doctor and try to get a referral to a cardiologist!. There are very few doctors in each state that know how to close PFO's!. If you are unable to go through the procedure you could probably take blood thinners and that would help too!. But see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best thing you can do is take an aspirin!. That thins the blood and makes the likelihood of a blood clot significantly less (up to 40% less)

Be aware there are many things that cause chest pain, and the heart itself doesn't have pain nerves!. Is the pain on top!? It could be muscles or chest wall pain!. You could have an infection etc!. Don't panic but take the aspirin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Personally if i was experiencing this under the circumstances stated by you i would call an ambulance!. Before i give you some general info and advice i recommend you see a doctor ASAP and straight away if you are still suffering from this - or if you do again!.

It sounds like Angina to me:

Angina pectoris, commonly known as angina, is severe chest pain due to ischemia (a lack of blood and hence oxygen supply) of the heart muscle, generally due to obstruction or spasm of the coronary arteries (the heart's blood vessels)!. Coronary artery disease, the main cause of angina, is due to atherosclerosis of the cardiac arteries!. The term derives from the Greek ankhon ("strangling") and the Latin pectus ("chest"), and can therefore be translated as "a strangling feeling in the chest"!.

It is not common to equate severity of angina with risk of fatal cardiac events!. There is a weak relationship between severity of pain and degree of oxygen deprivation in the heart muscle (i!.e!. there can be severe pain with little or no risk of a heart attack, and a heart attack can occur without pain)!.

Worsening ("crescendo") angina attacks, sudden-onset angina at rest, and angina lasting more than 15 minutes are symptoms of unstable angina (usually grouped with similar conditions as the acute coronary syndrome)!. As these may herald myocardial infarction (a heart attack), they require urgent medical attention and are generally treated as a presumed heart attack!.

Therefore please seek medical advice soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com
