For the typical boil, all that is needed is incision and drainage!. With some good common sense and caution you can do this at home yourself : exacto knife from the hardware store, and some rubbing alcohol to sterilize the blade and skin!. all you need to do is poke a small hole to allow the pus to be expressed!.
Do NOT squeeze hard - you can make the abscess burst INTO the body and that is a bad thing!.
The old trick of applying warm compresses (on 20 minutes 3 times a day) works to allow the boil to soften, and it may then be punctured or burst on its own -
once the boild drains, it will resolve without any antibiotic therapy!.

Practice good hygiene, keep the area clean, washing with soap and water several times daily, after washing treat with a good antibiotic ointment!. Do not touch anything after you tend to the infected area until after you wash your hands!. Wash all towels, sheets, clothing or anything that comes into contact with the wound in very hot water, change sheets and towels after each use, do not re-use anything that comes into contact with the infected area until it has been thoroughly cleaned!. If the wound gets worse, or does not heal you will have to seek a doctor- I really wish you would anyway, there are places that will help the uninsured!. Staph is no longer a germ to treat casually or play with!. I almost died from it last winter!. I waited, didnt want to spend the money to go to doc, finally went to doc on a fri!. he said if I had not come in that day when I did, by monday I would have either been dead or at the least in the hosp! A bottle of hibiclens might be best - its about ten bucks!.
Neosporin may or may not be good, just depends if the staph is resistant!.

There is no home remedy that I would rely on if I had a staph infection!. Go to your local clinic or hospital!. The hospital where I live writes off your bill if you have no insurance and you don't make a lot of money, all you have to do is fill out a little paperwork and show them last year's tax form!. I'll bet you could work something out with them!. NOW GO!!! Staph is nothing to mess with!. You could get so sick you'd end up in the hospital anyway!Www@Answer-Health@Com
