Is there actual proof that second hand smoke kills?!

Question:

Is there actual proof that second hand smoke kills?

This is a discussion my co-workers have been debating for weeks now. 7 out of 10 are smokers here and we just need to clear the air, so to speak. Any answers (not opinions) are welcome!

Answers:

Not really. Its very hard to do conclusive studies with Secondhand smoke. The most data people have is from individuals that spend a lot of time around smokers who come down with lung cancer and other smoking-related diseases.

In all honesty though, from simple science, it is simple to realize that while it is unfiltered, secondhand smoke is dispersed into the entire atmosphere, not breathed into the lungs like regular smoke. Even if it were harmful, it is getting spread across a huge area and the tiny bit that gets breathed in, even over a long period of time, is not enough to really do any substantial damage.

However, do understand that as I said in the beginning, there haven't been very conclusive studies. It needs more time.
