What should i do about my 2nd degree burn on my hand?!

Question: What should i do about my 2nd degree burn on my hand!?
About 7 hours ago, i burnt my hand badly and the blister is just under 2" but not by allot!. I'm still suffering bad amounts of pain!. The only time the pain dies down abit is when i have a bag of ice on it, once the heat gets to the burn, the pain is so bad and unbearable!. I had my hand bandaged up a few hours ago but because i had no ice on my hand, the heat made it hurt like hell and i had to literally rip it off and shove my hand in freezing cold water!. Should i get medical advice!? I know burns hurt but its been 7 hours and the pain is unbearable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A 2" second degree burn is not that serious, though it is very painful!. If the blister has not popped, don't pop it!. Leave it alone and let the fluid inside heal the skin underneath!. If the blister has popped or torn, then cover the wound with Neosporin and bandage it with a piece of breathable gauze and medical tape around the edges!. You must keep the wound clean and dry!. Do this for several days until it is much improved, and can be left open to heal the rest of the way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Flush the burn with cool running water or apply cold- water compresses (a wet towel or handkerchief) until the pain lessens!. Do not use ice or ice water, which can cause more damage to the burned area!.

Try not to break the blister!. If the blister breaks, the exposed skin can become infected!.

Cover the burn with a clean (sterile, if possible), dry, nonfluffy bandage such as a gauze pad!. Do not put tape on the burn!.

Do not put ointments, grease, petroleum jelly, butter, or home remedies on the burn!. These substances can hold the heat in, making the burn worseWww@Answer-Health@Com

If i were you i would go to the emergency room and have it looked at and if they don't think it's that serions they can at least give you some pain medication!. But a burn is going to hurt for awhile!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to the doctor!. Don't put anything on it, it may get infected!. Go straight to the doctor and get it checked out!. Just take some panadol/paracetamol or pain killers to weaken the pain in the mean time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it is truly a second degree then medical attention is warranted!. The risk of infection is great as well as nerve damage to the area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aloe on the burn and alcohol in the mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

go to a doctor or do these steps to help your pain
1Submerse mild to moderate burns in cool water, or apply cold compresses immediately after being burned to help relieve pain and swelling!.
Step2Cut off clothes that are soaked in hot oil or hot water!.
Step3Understand that under no circumstances should clothes that have been burned into the skin be removed except by a medical professional!.
Step4Remove shoes if the feet have been burned; remove all jewelery that is on a burned body part!.
Step5Be sure not to apply any ointments or greases to burns!.
Step6Cover the burned area with a clean, dry towel or sheet if the burn is severe, to protect the burn from bacteria during transport!.
Step7Do not put ice on a burn as this can damage the skin!.
Step8Allow blisters to break on their own!. Do not pop or puncture them!. When a blister opens on its own, dab antibiotic ointment on it and cover with a dry dressing!.
Step9Take acetaminophen for pain!.
Step10Allow the person with burns that do not require emergency treatment to take sips of cool water!. If you are transporting the person to the hospital, do not give him or her anything to drink!.
