Answers:
There has definitely been some mis-communicationn regarding the therapy ask your mother to clarify with the Oncologist!.
The breast cancer staging and ER/PR and HER2 status will determine the therapy!.
In most cases chemotherapy- surgery-chemotherapy- radiotherapy OR surgery-chemotherapy-radiotherapy is advised!.
In very early cases,surgery- chemotherapy is advised!.
In elderly menopausal women in certain cases no cemotherapy but only hormonal therapy is advised after surgery!.
In highly advanced cases, surgery may not be planned only supportive therapy is indicated!.
So, discuss with your oncologist and clarify!. In no case, life long radiotherapy is advised!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definitely go back for clarification!. People do NOT get radiation for the rest of their lives!. There are some types of chemo that people can be on indefinately and there are some hormonal treatments (these are not chemotherapy) that people are on for a long time!. Somewhere along the line someone has misunderstood!.

I think your mother made need further clarification!. Chemo and radiation only go on as long as they need to!. If they can get the cancer into remission she won't need to do those treatments any longer!. physicians don't like to do radiation any longer than they have to because of the dangerous side effects!. no she will not have to have the radiation for the rest of her life
my BC was rather large and i had the surgery, chemo then radiation, I had the radiation everyday for eight weeks
the amount of time of radiation will depend on the BC itself, its location, its grade and stage Www@Answer-Health@Com
