They are the exact same thing!. The credentialing agency for ultrasound technicians is the A!.R!.D!.M!.S!. or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers!. There are different sub specialties in the field of ultrasound, which include obstetrics, fetal, abdominal, small parts, breast, echocardiography, and vascular technology!. Each of these focuses on a different organ or set of organs!. Different specialties have different wages, and you don't go to school for ultrasound and then specialize!. You go to school for a specific area of ultrasound, such as echocardiography, vascular technology, or gereral, which includes the rest of the aforementioned specialties!. Hope this helps!. Good luck and all the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
