whats the risk invalved if any

It just so happens that I am getting ready to go to the dentist.
I have a card that says " needs protection from bacterial endocarditis because of an existing heart condition"
I asked my Cardiologist and my card confirms his recommendation that I take 2.0 g Amoxicillin one hour before the procedure.
I think this is because I had a mitral valve repair with a physio ring but I also had a double bypass and a bi-ventricular AICD installed.
