4 yr old's first trip to allergist, what can we expect? ?!

Question: 4 yr old's first trip to allergist, what can we expect!? !?
One of my youngest (a twin) has had allergic reactions to some foods since starting solids!. No horrific reactions, or ER trips due to it, but with different foods gets red splotches, a red ring and hives on and around his mouth!. So far I have been able to end it with benedryl!. Since there is no definite pattern or specific food or dye I wanted to take him to an allergist before he enters preschool, so we don't have a fiasco in school!. What should I expect the allergist to do!? The office lady I spoke with said they would place a patch with 8 tiny needles on his back that would contain the common allergens and it would not be painfull!. It would be more traumatic from him just fearing a new doctor and what they are going to do than pain!. Then I have had an adult family friend say that patch thing is painfull and burns!. So what should I expect or be dreading!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
its not that bad!. i think the burn is partly because you want to scratch it so bad if your allergic !. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh it doesn't hurt one bit it just gets REALLY itchy and you can't scratch at it!. He will have some minor food allergies probably to wheat or something!.Don't be dreading it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
