Is it ok to suppress my cough while at work for 8 hours?!

Question: Is it ok to suppress my cough while at work for 8 hours!?
I have had an upper resp!. infection/bronchitis since Monday and now I am coughing and hacking the mucus up!. I have to go back to work today, and am still coughing like crazy!. If I take something to suppress it while I'm at work for 8 hours is that bad!? I have to go and I work at a gym, so I am not trying to cough up a lung in front of the guest!. I really don't think I should even be going in, but my boss is a royal jerk! advice!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Are you taking meds for the actual infection!? If so, I would stay home until it works completely!. I think your boss would rather have you home getting better than at work hacking crap all over people!. I remember when I had a lung infection!. Before I knew what it was, I was at work everyday coughing like crazy!. People were giving me dirty looks and asking questions!. It was horrible!. Your health and comfort are more important and if your boss can't understand that then screw them!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd be taking 'Mucelex' and be coughing up all that I can!. You should never delay what your body must do to correct it's-self!. In this specific situation I'd be careful to not ever openly spew your coughs without first containing them into a hanky of sorts!. You should explain the situation to your co-workers and boss,so that no-one has to fear contracting TB, or some other transmittable disease,of this nature!. Coughs not contained can be very inconsiderate of other's health, and thus the immediate fodder of hysteria by others, reguardless of the true reason!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
