Which should I see? A Pulmonologist or an Ear, Nose, & Throat Specialist?!

Question:

Which should I see? A Pulmonologist or an Ear, Nose, & Throat Specialist?

I'd appreciate any help on this matter. Last year I began having trouble breathing. Well, here are my symptoms. Please let me know what you think and which specialist I should see.
I experience difficulty swallowing, swelling of the throat, tongue and airways in my throat and nose, increased production of a very thin, clear, ropy mucous, so much so that I have to keep spitting it out. I feel like I have a large lump in my throat and I cough and cough until I am hoarse and my throat hurts but 9 times out of 10 I can't get anything out. The slimy mucous feels like it's blocking my throat and my nasal passages are swollen so I have serious trouble breathing. I get dizzy and I panic because of the trouble breathing. Sometimes there is a faint wheezing when I breathe and I feel lots of pressure in my sinuses and behind my eardrums. I'm no longer relying on reg. Dr's w/ this prob. They tell me it's a panic attack, but any person will panic if they can't breathe. Please help

Also, I'm 23 years old, mother of 3 year old daughter and am currently 5 months pregnant. I smoked for almost 10 years but I quit in August of last year when all of this started giving me problems. The feeling of not being able to breathe scared me so bad that I stopped smoking that same day and have now supported my husband, mom and step-dad in their decisions to quit smoking also. I have no idea whether it's something to do with allergies or whether it's a lung problem. For the past couple of years, every time I went to the Dr. or ER I've had an upper respiratory infection. Also have had sinusitis, sinus infections, bronchitis, etc. several times in the past few years that have been ongoing and don't seem to go away. I'm worried about whether or not they'll be able to treat me. Are there any safe meds for this type of thing that they can give during pregnancy? It's seriously affecting my quality of life. Hopefully the specialist can sort it out and help end my misery.

Answers:

I would suggest an ENT doctor. They should be able to figure it out or if it out of their scope they should refer you to the pulmonologist
