Question: Cervical Cancer Question!. Abnormal Pap!. I'm terrified!.!?
My last pap smear was in 2005 and it was normal!. I had one a few months ago that was abnormal!. I went for my biopsy and the nurse told me my pap was 'slightly abnormal'!. I saw the paperwork and saw that it said ASC-H!. I had the biopsy and came home and looked up the ASC-H!. It doesn't look very slighty abnormal to me!. Why would she tell me it was 'slightly abnormal'!? It's scary!. My biopsy was taken from 12 o'clock!. What are the chances of me already having cancer!? Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try and remain as calm as you can!. I can understand your fear and shock!.
I am sure the nurse would not have told you slightly abnormal if it was worse than that!.
My sister had a severely abnormal smear that resulted in her having surgery and she is now fine having had her first baby!.
Chances of you having full blown cancer are low in view of the fact you have been having regular and normal smears!. That is why they are done every 3 years!.
I recommend you ring your GP now and state how frightened you really are and i am sure he/she will try and give you as much info as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chances are low!. ASC H stands for "Atypical squamous cells of unknown significance", which means that we still don't know if these type of lessons could become cancer!. It's very good that you had a biopsy, it will give you the definite answer!. However, do not let pass more that a year between each pap!. If your biopsy is negative for cancer, you should repeat the pap smear every 3 months or so till it's normal!.

M pap came back abnormal in 2005 and I had a biopsy done, and I can the cells that can cause cancer, but it doesnt mean you have it!. You just have to go back every year to make sure!.!.!. cervical cancer is caused my hpv, and I heard that 80% of people b the time they are 50 will have hpv!. It doesnt mean you have cancer or will!. I havent been back to the doctors since 2005, so you are in better shape than me!. I have my apt this month!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
