Stroke at 21???......?!
Question: Stroke at 21!?!?!?!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
I just found out my cousin had a stroke last night!. He is in the hospital and numb on his left side, arm and leg!. And his face too and can't close his eye!.
Has anyone known this to happen so young!? Did they recover well or could it be permanent damage!? What would be the causes!?

i heard of a Russian athlete who dropped dead of a heart attack at 20 or 21, he had a heart condition that tests couldn't detect, life is short and unpredictable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I don't know anyone that has had one that young!.
But I know Tedy Bruschi of the New England patriots had a mild stroke!.He suffered from a patent foramen ovale, a congenital heart defect that leaves a small hole in the wall separating the left and right atria of the heart!.

cerebrovascular accident can happen in anyone not necessarily to those in the elderly as long as insult to the brain is there!. most of the time, CVA in the elderly is due to ischemia/hemorrhage!. in the younger age group, we look into more common cause like infection, burst of the arteriovenous malformation in the brain,intracranial bleed post trauma!. i'm sure the doctors are working hard in finding the reason why this thing happened!. therefore it needs more than the symptoms to answer your question - perhaps CT brain and all the blood investigationsWww@Answer-Health@Com
I'm so sorry Skylar!. Strokes can hit at any age!. I don't know if causes have been pinned down , but there are risk factors (alcohol, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, his and lows of blood sugar, smoking!.!.)!. the reasons behind it is that he use to drink a lot!.!.smoke a lot!.!. and eat butter in his every meal!.!.and that too the whole slab of butter (arnd 250gms)!.!. plus!.!. eating chips!.!.etc
well the doc said that a person normally gets these attacks is when !.!. the he/she is worked up etc!.!.

Must be due to Some clot dislodged, was he having some congenital problem of heart!? or kidneys or life style!.

sorry to hear that!. yes it can happen that young, but it is rare!. usually it is because of alcohol or drug abuse (not saying this is the case with your cousin) or possibly some kind of congenital defect from birth!. hope he is better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Strokes can occur at any age if the conditions are there!. High saturated fatty diets contribute to stroke!. Snoring is a major risk factor for stroke, a fact many people do not know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
