What tests should i ask to be done to check for chest/heart problems?!

Question: What tests should i ask to be done to check for chest/heart problems!?
Im going to the doctor tomorrow to get tests done on me but i dont know exactly what to ask for!. this is why im going though,

in 8th, after athletics my chest was really tight, if i tried to inhale i would get a shooting sharp pain through my chest and abdomen so couldnt breathe, and couldnt stand up that well!. i walked across the street and collapsed in my grandmas house and started gaining the ability to breathe slowly and she took my pulse and said i had and very high pulse and irregular heart beat!.

about 3 years ago, i started having extremely bad chest pains again and went to the doctor and he took an ekg and found nothing, so he thinks it was just gas i think and sent me on my way!. eventually the pain went away!.

and now, its 3 years later, im easily short of breath, can feel my heart like lurch or beat relaly hard, chest pain sometimes pain through my arm too!.

i wanna get checked, what do i ask for like what tests to be done or do i just tell him that!? and what do you think it sounds like!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Standard of care would say that they would run an EKG!. It is a simple, quick test to evaluate your heart rhythm and any damage that may have occurred in the past!.

Pending your insurance (they are horrible lately), you could expect him to recommend a Stress Test!. A plain treadmill has low predictive value, but due to a faulty study released about a year ago, the insurance companies think that it is fine!. A Stress Thallium would be better!.

He may also recommend and echocardiogram, or ultrasound of your heart to determine any structural problems that may account for the chest pain or irregular heart beat!.

If the "heart beating really hard" doesn't occur daily, a holter monitor will not do much good!. There are other types of event monitoring that would be more beneficial!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just give the best information you can!.!.!.like what you do when it starts and how long it lasts!.
I'm sure they will do a 12 lead EKG which looks at the heart from twelve angles!. (Doesn't take long, just putting some stickers on your chest)!. They also might want to do a stress test and have you run on a treadmill!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

First off I am not a doctor!. So of course you are doing the right thing in seeing a doctor!. What it may be is stress, especially if you are very active!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stress test and a halter(heart) monitor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
