What is wrong with my sons scalp? ?!
Question: What is wrong with my sons scalp!? !?
He is about 3 yrs old!. I have been noticing he has some white flakes over the past few months!. Lately it has looked worse!. We wash with normal shampoo every other night!.
Every time I try to run my fingers over the dry part to loosen up the dry skin he shrugs away!.
Tonight while he was asleep I thought I would have a closer look, there was this white junk really thick, and it was like making his roots stick together, so I gingerly started to pull the hairs apart from the white stuff, and a small peice of his hair pealed off!. The skin underneath was pink and raw looking!. I am Calling the Dr!. first thing tomorrow!!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

It must be very dry scalp!. Shampooing every other night for a 3 year old may be too much for his sensitive scalp!. Are you using baby shampoo!? I hope so! I used baby shampoo on my kids till they were like 10! Yes, but do take him to the doctor and they will probably give him some meds for it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
My son had unusually thick dandruff around age 3 also due to his very thick hair not getting rinsed well enough after shampooing
( as if a 3 y!.o!. would let you pour lots of water over their heads without squirming)
AFTER I treated the dandruff with T-gel shampoo
Pediatrician suggested I have him wear a swim mask while I rinsed his hair to make a fun game out of it
